HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support the pilot implementation and evaluation of telehealth models for pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols. This role also ensures that protocol requirements are achieved within Good Clinical Practice guidelines. This is the first of four levels, and the entry level position for the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) series.

This position will focus on working with military families with children with neurodevelopmental needs, primarily in the Pacific Northwest. The work hub will be at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC), and will reach military families in the greater Puget Sound area. This individual will be responsible for supporting the implementation and evaluation of a telehealth model for primary health care providers interacting with children with developmental needs, as well as connecting families with community and military resources to meet the needs of these children. The successful candidate will assist with intervention implementation and evaluation, including recruitment and data collection, in partnership with providers at Madigan and under the direction of Principal Investigators at the Uniformed Services University.

This position will support active telehealth operational research /program evaluation in the Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Center for Deployment Psychology and the Center for Health Services Research.

Responsibilities

  • Supports planning and implementation of neurodevelopmental disorder-focused telehealth interventions.
  • Compiles, manages, and generates program documentation on topics such as the range of services provided and external connections.
  • Collects, organizes, catalogs, disseminates, and maintains appropriate files of current data. Maintains regular status reports on all intervention activities.
  • May assist in connecting patients to neurodevelopmental appointments and therapy visits.
  • Community Outreach: Liaises with clinical and community partners to build relationships and processes for connecting families with external resource providers. Acts as a liaison and resource for families.
  • Helps to facilitate educational materials and other training for providers to better support families with special needs.
  • Conducts participant eligibility screening and enrollment activities as needed.
  • Performs programmatic / research data collection, data entry, and cleaning.
  • May assist with data analysis as appropriate.
  • Assists clinical staff with information dissemination.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact (POC) for protocol preparation, submission, maintenance, reporting and closeout with local MAMC IRB, in coordination with USU regulatory activiti and POC.
  • May provide regulatory consultative support to MAMC Developmental Pediatrics research efforts as deemed necessary by partners and IRB requirements.
  • Adheres to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. Assures that protocol requirements are achieved within Good Clinical Practices.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for the role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of institutional review board, federal and local regulations and policies
    pertinent to research involving human subjects; pediatric populations preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form and to work with
    individuals of all levels.
  • Excellent sense of judgment and ability to work both collaboratively and

  • Experience engaging with military-connected families/communities, preferred
  • Knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions, preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a clinic setting.
  • May travel to support implementation at participating sites as needed, up to 15%.

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $77,968.80-$79,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
