Overview

As Data Analyst II - Geographic Information System (GIS), you will be responsible for collecting, normalizing, analyzing and transforming relevant internal/external data into highly reliable and valuable information useful in support of current and future business needs. The Route Analysis and Selection (RAS) team typically performs data analysis of proposed service areas and routes in advance of facility design, route acquisition and facility construction. This candidate should also understand how to work with Telecom/TDS Redlines, be familiar with permit polygons and have a working knowledge of python.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

The pay range listed for this position represents the low and high end of the base compensation range. The actual offer amount will carefully consider multiple factors, such as relevant skills, qualifications, work experience, location and/or competencies that align with the specified role. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and equity awards.

A typical pay range for this position will be between $58,000 - $70,000/yr.



Responsibilities

Report Development:

    Responsibility for transforming operational data into usable information based on business needs and requirements from TDS.
  • Telecom business unit partners.
  • Create reports utilizing one or more of the reporting tools used by TDS: FOCUS, Business Objects (Web Intelligence and Crystal Reports), Golden, Oracle Application Express, SQL, etc.
  • Ensure that the reports being developed adhere to all team standards.

Operational:

  • Manage individual work queue per standards.
  • Negotiate due dates with requestors.
  • Maintain documentation for requests per team standards.

Process And Standards:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting standards, procedures and technical documentation.

Software Development:

  • Work actively with project teams to gather reporting requirements for the project.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in GIS or related discipline preferred
  • Computer skills, including GIS, ESRI, ArcPro, Arc Desktop, AGOL, 3GIS, Python Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new tools (i.e.: Clarity, PCE, Ariba, etc.) as they are deployed.
  • Strong technical aptitude for data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/or PL-SQL, and development tools.
  • Analytical problem solver.
  • Solid work ethic and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and sustain heavy workloads.
  • Accepts accountability and committed to follow through with activities. Provide regular feedback; take ownership, and exercise diligence
    and integrity in work activities.
  • Able to work both independently and cooperatively on team assignments.
  • Professional interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with Clients and information systems professionals. Able to produce clear, professionally written communications and documentation.
  • Able to work effectively with business leaders and partners to identify information needs, define reporting requirements, and define functional designs for management reporting data structures, file layouts, and report definitions.
  • Knowledge of tariffs, contracts, and business unit processes which impact the operational and billing data.
  • Attention to detail, able to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of finance, business, and marketing principles. Ability to work with a diverse functional and technical groups.

Associates scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week have access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off benefits such as vacation (15 days accrued per year for full-time; pro-rated for part-time associates working between 20-39 hours), sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates), seven paid national holidays and one floating holiday, paid parental leave (2 weeks after 12 months of employment), among others.
