Description

The Manufacturing Floor Support Specialist will serve as a key liaison across all areas of the manufacturing floor and supporting departments, ensuring seamless coordination and forward momentum in the production process. This position is critical in maintaining workflow efficiency, addressing bottlenecks, and facilitating timely communication to meet production goals. The role requires a proactive individual with a servant leadership mentality who has strong organizational and problem-solving skills and can thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Production Support:



  • Act as the main point of contact for manufacturing teams and plant supervisors to resolve production issues promptly and achieve shipment targets.
  • Monitor daily production activities and identify opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with team leads and supervisors to address production bottlenecks and challenges.
  • Directly support or complete assembly, light fabrication, or other production-related work as needed.


Communication Facilitation:



  • Serve as a conduit between manufacturing floor teams, management, and support functions and management to ensure alignment on priorities and goals.
  • Communicate updates, changes, and challenges effectively to all relevant stakeholders.


Process Improvement:



  • Support, or lead, continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production flow and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.


Department Support & Resource Management:



  • Ensure necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available and accessible to support uninterrupted production.
  • Work closely with inventory and supply chain teams to maintain stock levels accuracy and anticipate needs.


Quality Assurance:



  • Support adherence to quality standards by assisting teams in identifying and addressing quality issues during production.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance personnel to ensure product specifications are met.


Safety and Compliance:



  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and reporting hazards or incidents.
  • Support training initiatives to enhance team members' understanding of safety practices and procedures.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in manufacturing, Operations, or a related field and at least 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or an equivalent combination of experience & education.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to engage with others to generate results
  • General familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Prior work experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to spend extended periods on the manufacturing floor
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate within an industrial environment.
  • Full-time position with hours aligned to the production schedule. Flexibility to work overtime or adjust hours as needed to meet production demands.
