The Department of General Services is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 for the Bureau of Publications. The primary purpose of this position is performing a variety of incoming and outgoing mail pickup and delivery functions.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will deliver incoming mail from the USPS correctly and accurately to the various agencies that are serviced by the Bureau of Publications. Will also pick-up outgoing mail from these various agencies. Perform the route(s) in a timely and efficient manner according to LEAN practices. Stage mail correctly at the proper machine depending on the type of processing the mail requires. Stage Certified mail for processing as instructed. Use bureau mail tags to identify mail accounts (where applicable). Stage mail requiring postage at the meter machine in the agencies designated location, unless other arrangements have been approved. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is considered an essential employee and may be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must possess a valid class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous experience handling mail.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
- Previous experience using mail metering equipment.
- Previous experience as a courier or route driver.
- Previous experience performing quality control.
