DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, your duties will involve monitoring and recording vital signs, height, and weight. You will collect specimens such as urine, feces, and sputum. Demonstrating compassion and respect, you will assist inmates with basic personal hygiene tasks including hair, oral, and nail care, as well as bathing and dressing. In addition, you will prepare and serve food trays, assist with feeding, and document eating habits. Daily tasks will include making beds and changing linens as needed. You will also strictly follow infection control procedures and universal health care precautions. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- The Department of Corrections is staffed by three work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 8-hour shifts include 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM), and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM), each with a 30-minute lunch. You will have a 5-day work week with rotating days off.
- Work schedules are to be determined at the time of hire.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
