Job Summary

Serve as a management advisor and facilitator in the application of human resources polices and procedures for assigned campus unit(s). Oversee implementation of new or revised human resources policy and programs within unit(s). This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and staff, Office of Human Resources (OHR) management and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit and OHR management. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Interpret human resources policies and advise unit management regarding application

Job Duty 2 -
Review and approve transactions for submission to Human Resources Information System (new hire, terminations, pay actions, etc.); Coordinate resolution of exceptions

Job Duty 3 -
Review, analyze and advise management regarding human resources related actions and issues (pay equity, promotions, new hires. etc.)

Job Duty 4 -
Guide and facilitate processing of formal employee relations issues and investigations, disciplinary actions and terminations

Job Duty 5 -
Serve as key liaison between assigned unit(s) management and OHR regarding all human resource related issues

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Business, Human Resources, or Organizational Psychology.
3 to 5 years of progressive experience in human resources consulting within higher education.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
Demonstrated experience as a Senior HR Consultant, Partner, or Generalist, with in-depth knowledge of various human resource disciplines including, but not limited to, performance management, employment laws and regulations, and employee performance.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience developing, building, and maintaining strong business partnerships.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced, broad general knowledge of human resource policies and practices including those related to strategic planning, recruitment/staffing, compensation/benefits, employee relations, performance management, training and workforce planning. Skill in the use of office computer applications and HRMS data bases is required.

Anticipated annual salary $63,303.00 to $86,091.00 commensurate with qualifications
