Daikin Applied is seeking a Production Trainer to provide wiring and assembly training and support for new and existing employees. Duties include classroom and hands-on training, TWI-JI training, and training evaluation.

Location: In Office. Staunton, VA.

What you will do:



  • Coordinate with management and quality staff to determine training objectives and standardize wiring IPC-620 certification requirements and basic assembly skills training
  • Use the ADDIE & BEM (Models) and TWI-JI to create training programs, including writing outlines, handouts, and tests, and designing hands-on exercises
  • Schedule classes based on skills requirements, and classroom and student availability
  • Work collaboratively with the local management team to coordinate training
  • Maintain inventory of wiring and assembly parts and materials
  • Provide classroom and hands-on wiring and assembly training to new and existing employees
  • Oversee hands-on-training, personally demonstrate procedures being taught, observe trainees in dojo, provide coaching and answers trainees' questions
  • Administer written and practical exams to measure employees theoretical learning, evaluate trainees' learning transfer through hands-on/demonstrative activities, provides appropriate feedback during training, and validate wiring and assembly skills
  • Work with location management regarding trainees who have not successfully obtained the skills and knowledge required to wire and assemble HVAC units or Control Panels and provide remedial training as appropriate
  • Ensure that training records and files are maintained appropriately, conducts annual training file audits, and provides feedback to location management when corrective action is needed
  • Conduct regular audits of wiring and assembly practices on shop floor to ensure that training has transferred from the classroom to the floor and that employees are using appropriate techniques and sustaining newly learned skills
  • Evaluate effectiveness of wiring and assembly training and revise as necessary
  • Ensure that 5S principles are followed in the dojo training area, serving as a model for the rest of the plant
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to training facility and integrates information into training program
  • Assist with Kaizen teams and special projects to reduce wiring and assembly related defects as direct by manager
  • Continually works to improve their own subject matter skills and knowledge, skills and knowledge related to training, and skills and knowledge around the Production of Daikin System (PDS) and Quality
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • IPC-620 certification completion within 6months
  • TWI-JI 10 hour and 40-hour certification completion within 6months


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Two-year technical associate degree (e.g. electrical systems)

The typical hourly base pay for this position ranges from $25.72-$39.23 in VA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
