Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Environmental Compliance Manager/Operations Inspector for a Client in San Clemente Island. The selected candidate will oversee the Environmental Protection Program (EPP) in compliance with the Project standards and requirements. This role involves fieldwork on the island, with a schedule of 4 days per week on-site during the initial phases, potentially tapering over time.



Responsibilities

    Execute environmental due diligence activities.
  • Coordinate compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, ensuring permits are obtained and maintained.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and documentation while liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain the Environmental Protection Plan (EPP), including compliance with hazardous waste management, stormwater programs, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Manage environmental protection measures, including waste disposal, erosion control, and natural resource protection.
  • Coordinate any remediation of regulated substances (lead, asbestos, PCB transformers)
  • Ensure training and oversight for compliance with ECATTS and other required environmental standards.
  • Maintain environmental records and reports, ensuring project documentation aligns with regulatory and contractual standards.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, land planning, environmental science/engineering, environmental law/policy, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental regulatory permitting, compliance, and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in development and implementation of Environmental Protection Plans.
  • Experience in CEPA/NEQA document preparation and environmental assessments.
  • Experience in implementation of Hazardous Waste Program requirements
  • Experience with control and disposal of solid and sanitary wastes.
  • Experience with developing or implementing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
  • Experience in environmental permitting for projects involving oil, gas, or power generation facilities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for on-site work 4 days per week during the initial phase.
  • Completion of 40 CFR requirements and ECATTS certification prior to commencing work.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $155,000.00. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
