The HLA Tech performs complex histocompatibility testing, including HLA genotyping by molecular methods, antibody screening and identification, and flow crossmatch.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complies with regulatory requirements by following established procedures and protocols in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and meet accreditation standards.
  • Performs routine QA/QC tasks, including instrument maintenance and reagent QC.
  • Records and interprets test results as applied to donor-recipient matching for solid organ and bone marrow transplantation.
  • Participates in the laboratory's on-call rotation (24/7) for the histocompatibility testing of all deceased donors.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Science, or other related field.
  • Prior training in a laboratory setting.
  • Certification as a Histocompatibility Technologist preferred.
