DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Crash Analytics Intern, your responsibilities will involve analyzing crash data and supporting the assessment and integration of new data sources and technologies. Additional duties may encompass supplying crash statistics and factual information for diverse publications, executing various quality control tasks related to crash data, and maintaining updated contact and resource lists.

Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be for Engineering District 8 which consists of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours may vary based on position
  • Travel may be required
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Students who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:
  • Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester.
  • In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Special Requirement: Certain positions require a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Current enrollment in one of the following major programs:
    • Statistics
    • Data Analytics
    • Data Sciences
