Supply Chain Specialist

Overview of the Position:

The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for the supportability of customer requirements, and inventory turns through supply chain management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Review requirements to determine and perform the necessary course of action, including: sourcing, purchasing, expediting, de-expediting, and cancellation.
  • Research, recommend, and negotiate best practice procurements.
  • Prepare requests for quotes, purchase orders, and purchase order change notices.
  • Ensure purchases are compliant with customer flow downs.
  • Work closely with vendors to develop and maintain strategic relationships.
  • Review necessary data and ensure adequate supportability is maintained.
  • Negotiate pricing for best value and strategic wins.
  • Resolve issues internally and externally through effective communication.
  • Monitor inventory levels and supportability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong database, spreadsheet, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
  • Self-starter.
  • Strong communication skills.

Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree and/or one year of experience. Aerospace Industry experience a plus.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Minimal travel required.
