Lead Cook
Reports to: Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef; position is non-exempt
THE ROLE
As a Lead Cook at Granada, you will work directly with the Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chefs to develop and execute exceptional scratch-made dishes and recipes. Whether you're honing your skills as a Cook I, II, or III, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the culinary team. You are expected to have a basic understanding of culinary techniques, be task-oriented, and demonstrate a collaborative spirit with your colleagues. Your contributions will directly support a shared commitment to excellence in guest experience and team success.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Engage in daily line-ups and quarterly culinary meetings to foster transparency and teamwork within the department.
- Address and report any substandard equipment or facility conditions to the Chef or Sous Chefs and work with the team to correct issues.
- Maintain consistent communication with leadership to align priorities and adapt to operational needs.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Passion for culinary arts and experience in various cuisines.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cook or in a similar culinary position.
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and requirements; ServSafe Certification or completion within 30 days of hire is required.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word to create and adjust prep guides, inventory sheets, and cleaning lists.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with team members at all levels.
- Conversational proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory management and ingredient measurements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment for extended periods.
- Physical ability to lift, balance, and carry up to 25 lbs. independently and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods while preparing food.
