Contract: Temp to Perm after 6-month conversion
Hours: 3rd Shift 10:00pm- 6:30am & weekends required
Hourly Comp: $30 hourly + 10% Shift Differential
Purpose of the role:
The role of the Field Service Engineer is to support the Lead Field Service Engineer and provide technical support for the Phoenix Skytrain service team and the Customer. It is also to assist in the revision and creation of manuals, systems, standards, maintenance plans and technical solutions to improve the performance and reliability of 5 miles guideway that comprises of signaling, guideway switches, station platform doors and power distribution system.
Job Description:
Provide technical direction for engineering, maintenance, and repair activities as the technical expert for wayside- system(s).
Assist in the development of data collection processes and procedures relating to wayside and guideway condition, performance, reliability etc.
Apply engineering principles to investigate guideway trends and perform root cause analysis.
Assist in the development of researched solutions to address wayside performance trends with the aim of minimizing or eliminating their reoccurrence. Such solutions may involve changes to suppliers, design, maintenance plans etc. and will require close liaison with other functional departments such as engineering, supply management and customers.
Develop and deliver technical training, testing and certification documents. Teach classes in your area of expertise, when required, to managers, engineers, technicians and other personnel.
Produce proposals on relevant and cost-effective options for guideway and wayside changes/modifications accompanied by the appropriate documentation such as risk analysis etc.
Assist in the development and implementation of overhaul intervals and specifications (scope of work) for major components based on results of risk analysis, specifications, vehicle and guideway condition (ie. condition monitoring) and financial constraints.
Degree or Diploma in technical discipline and 3-5 + years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Post-secondary education in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical or electronics is considered an asset.
Three years of experience in maintaining electromechanical systems, production, manufacturing facilities are a plus.
Operations and Maintenance, Running Heavy Equipment Rebuild Program, Installation and Commissioning experiences are a plus.
Advanced computer skills, with emphasis on condition monitoring, must be able to run and maintain reports for failure analysis, and to operate maintenance information systems i.e. Maximo for data recording and management
Advanced troubleshooting skill in electrical and mechanical systems.
Preparation of standards, maintenance schedules, maintenance instructions, fault reports and other documents.
Experience and understanding of the interface between electrical, mechanical systems.
