The Director of Digital Product, a key leader in the Medica Digital team, will co-lead the definition and execution of the digital strategy of our member, provider, employer and broker omnichannel experiences in partnership with our stakeholders, oversee the Medica digital roadmap to enhance our pre and post-authenticated services, and deliver on our digital KPI's. This leader will promote a product culture that values a strategic mindset, critical thinking, rigorous data analysis, continuous testing and learning, and an approach that embraces an iterative, fail-fast mentality as a pathway to innovation. This person will utilize data, insights, research, and customer feedback to develop Medica's multi-year strategic roadmap, partner with the UX and Engineering leads and respective Platform teams to conceive, vet, and develop best-in-class digital capabilities, as well as articulate strategy and business cases to senior leadership.

The Successful Candidate Will:



  • Create and effectively champion a data-driven and customer-centric product vision and strategy for our various audiences that ladder to the broader Medica strategy to achieve growth and deliver business results.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director to lead the portfolio discovery and planning processes to identify and deliver enhancements and market-differentiating opportunities.
  • Build and evangelize business cases to support product vision and strategy; gain buy-in for funding and alignment.
  • Ensure the portfolio aligns with and delivers on the vision as well as the strategies of cross-divisional partners.
  • Ensure portfolio investments are managed within approved budgets in partnership with Segment GM's.
  • Ensure that new and enhanced capabilities are valuable, viable, usable and feasible.
  • Instill the data-driven and customer-centric mindset and skillset into the Digital team, particularly with direct reports. Advance critical thinking and analytical skills across the organization.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual planning.
  • Assist with annual budgeting.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with key individual stakeholders and partnering with teams throughout Medica.
  • Successfully navigate and thrive in ambiguous and complex environments.



Professional Qualifications and Experience



  • 10+ years in digital product management, preferably in a leadership role for at least 3 years
  • Past experience leading, growing, and developing a high performing group of product managers
  • Past experience leading and advocating for a strong product management culture
  • Proven ability to get things done, from discovery/concept to product launch to post-launch support
  • Deep understanding of and experience with strategy development, data analysis, continuous and rapid testing and learning, and business case development. Data modeling experience is preferred.
  • Experience with software development and significant hands-on knowledge of agile best practices, empowered teams and design principles
  • Clear, concise, and persuasive presentation skills and communication style that compels action
  • Experience bringing business knowledge, innovative thinking, financial data, and sound judgment into the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities
  • Proven ability to align peers, product managers, and other partners around a common vision
  • Ability to lead from within a product team and support as a servant-leader
  • Proven ability to work well on a personal level with teams, partners and executives
  • Bachelors in relevant focus area (e.g. Business, Marketing, Engineering); Master's degree a plus
  • Experience working in health care is preferred but not required.



This position is a Remote role and will work remotely 100% of the time. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have a primary home address located within any state where Medica is registered as an employer - AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OK, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI.

The full salary range for this position is $124,600 - $213,600. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
