In the role of a Project Manager you will be working in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. Purpose Under general direction, manages NIH funded projects for the institution to achieve established goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating of project tasks. Primary Functions * Support the functions of the department with the creation of project vision and implementation plans for team projects by deploying project management techniques, effective communication, and group facilitation skills. * Manage all project planning processes for the department. * Assist with assembling and leading project teams, assign individual tasks, identify and secure appropriate resources to project deliverables; develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely and successful project completion. * Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs, scope and requirements. * Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies. * Ensure that all deliverables occur within the approved project scope and that outcomes meet approved project requirements. * Lead and facilitate work groups and teams, involving cross-departmental and cross-organizational participants. * Appropriately assign tasks to project team members; ensure accurate and timely completion of project tasks. * Develop accurate project estimates that include hours, duration, cost, and resources for all phases of projects, with the support of department leadership. * Create and oversee effective communication plans that address all aspects of the project and comprehensively target appropriate audiences. * Utilize effective project change control to manage the project scope, including costs, hours, and project duration. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities * Able to independently manage assigned projects, tasks and workgroups; accurately complete project within budget and by the due date with high customer satisfaction. * Demonstrates a strong background in project management and enforces project management best practices and methodologies. * Able to recognize issues and determine priority. Able to quickly isolate and independently resolve issues utilizing all available resources. Able to proactively prevent issues from occurring again and to anticipate future issues. * Able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form to customers and management. Able to create comprehensive documentation for all phases of the project. * Able to handle stressful situations in a calm and patient manner. Must maintain a positive attitude in all situations.
