JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibility will include daily pickup & deliveries to job sites, military installments, and suppliers as required. This position may handle Company Propriety and DoD confidential information. This position is supervised. Must meet the minimum requirements of the commercial auto insurance underwriter and have a valid State driver's license.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Functions:
- To safely and thoughtfully perform driving duties as assigned. This means planning your route so as to save time and fuel, combining multiple trips to reduce mileage and be sensible when starting and stopping.
- To act with dignity and respect of others on the road while driving a company vehicle-you are the ambassador of good will for ECR.
- Drivers are to identify on the designated check out board each vehicle in which they are checking out.
- Drivers are to check in with the on-site supervisor when they deliver or pick up materials and before they leave the job site to insure there are no more items or materials to return to the office/shop i.e. Time card, reports, interoffice mails, etc.
- Drivers are required to assist in loading and unloading of all their deliveries; this includes on days of inclement weather i.e. rain, snow, wind, cold, hot, etc.
- Drivers are to report to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor prior to initiating any deliveries or pickups. Drivers may NOT take delivery tickets from the checkout board without authorization.
- Drivers are to deliver all materials and consumables with all required paperwork to the Receiving Department at your main office assignment unless otherwise directed by the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor/Manager. i.e.
- Drivers bringing back large materials that must be stowed in production area must first have the material received by Receiving Department personnel and be correctly marked with the appropriate information and/or tags before stowing.
- Drivers MAY NOT loiter within the tool room or any other office/work area.
- Drivers that are waiting pickups are to assist in the receiving process, clean shop areas, clean vehicles or any other duties, as designated by their supervisor.
- Drivers are expected to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
- Driver may be required to hold a CDL license. ECR absorbs the relevant costs to maintain CDL licenses, in accordance with our procedures.
- Drivers are subject to overtime as directed by their supervisors.
- THE USE OF SEAT BELTS IS MANDATORY IAW STATE LAW.
- Drivers are required to communicate with intended delivery points of contact, check materials against paperwork, complete basic office admin duties when required, and have basic computer/scanner knowledge.
- Drivers are required to inspect their assigned vehicles daily, in accordance with ECR inspection procedures & provide the checkout sheet daily. Inspections include, but are not limited to:
Oil - transmission Water - anti-freeze Tires and tire pressure Mirrors and windows Brakes Fuel Lights, horn, seat belts, floor mats, etc.
- Drivers are expected to keep their vehicles clean and in an orderly manner.
- Drivers are expected to turn in all paperwork, including but not limited to: receipts, packing slips, COC's, MTR's, & SDS's, daily to the proper personnel.
- Drivers shall make themselves aware of all company policies regarding vehicles, their proper use, proper card, and the proper reporting procedure to follow in the event of an incident.
- Drivers must be safely stopped to use the company cell phone (personal cell phone use is not authorized during the workday).
- Drivers are expected to obey all city and state driving laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Clean driving record required
- CDL preferred
- Ability to gain access to military installations.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and request assistance for anything over 50 pounds as required.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb ladders and maneuver in small spaces.
- Ability to walk; use hands to handle or feel.
- Reach with arms and hands.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to climb and balance.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This is a physically demanding position that may not reasonably accommodate a physical disability to perform the essential functions. The lifting of materials, drawings or files and/or a tool weighing 25-50 lbs. is to be expected as routine. Physical dexterity is required when operating vehicles and/or equipment. Environmental Conditions: This position works in a generally hostile environment with loud noises and hazardous chemicals or smoke or extreme temperatures. Employees in this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts; fumes and airborne particulates. During work-site visits employee will be required to wear appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: Hard hat Safety Glasses
