Project Manager II - Project Management Office

**This is a non-technical Project Manager role; candidates with PMP or membership in PMI highly preferred**

The Project Manager II leads high priority projects and programs for VCU Health System by working collaboratively with organizational leaders to provide clear project vision, value and deliverables to achieve Health System goals and ROI. This position partners with business stakeholders to develop clear project plans, define project metrics and report on project status and results. Provides independent, analytical, and programmatic support for the health system's strategic initiatives.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
PMP certification or equivalent training/experience

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred

Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum five (5) years project management experience

Experience PREFERRED:
Three (3) years project management experience in the healthcare industry

Education/training REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Healthcare Management or related field from an accredited program

Education/training PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Business, Statistics, Healthcare Management or related field from an accredited program

Independent action(s) required:
Determines and develops approaches to solutions with work completed with accuracy and sound judgment ensuring objectives are met.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assist in the development of new systems, techniques, procedures and to develop special and recurring reports or analysis.
Strong interpersonal skills to support work teams and communicate effectively with a wide variety of key stakeholders, including patients and families, hospital administrative staff, clinicians, and external vendors/contacts.
Strong project management and business analysis skills, including the ability to interpret customer business needs, translate needs to application and operational requirements, and document and communicate via business process, use case, and workflow diagrams.
Strong decision-making and leadership abilities.
Ability to plan, organize, and influence the work of others in order to achieve project and organizational objectives.
Ability to manage and be responsible for shifting business priorities, demands and timelines.

Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable):
Ability to supervise work of direct and indirect project team members.
