Position Summary
The Physical Therapist for Work Performance provides physical therapy services to a wide variety of patients and works closely with others on the rehabilitation team and in other departments. In this role, the Physical Therapist provides patients/clients with quality, cost-effective services aimed at optimizing independent function. Hours of work may vary according to patient care needs and may provide weekend and holiday work as assigned. Individuals may be assigned permanently, temporarily, or simultaneously to more than one worksite where specific job requirements are described as an addendum to the job description. For this reason, therapists are expected to be generalists able to provide at least basic assessment to all referred patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates, plans, and administers acute physical therapy treatment for working age clients in the clinic or at the work site.
- Participates in a multidisciplinary plan of care, coordinates/facilitates elements of care, and assists in identifying available resources both internally and in the community.
- Performs specialized post-offer/preplacement testing and ergonomic evaluations.
- Monitors and reports on patient outcomes and actively works with other members of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate improved delivery of cost-effective services.
Position Qualifications
- Must have either Physical Therapist (PT) license by Oregon Physical Therapist Licensing Board, or Physical Therapist Compact Privilege (PT-CP) by PTCC upon start.
- BLS : Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association is required upon start.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License with proof of safe driving record for the past ten years and proof of insurance may be required. Must obtain Oregon Driver's License within 30 days of moving to Oregon (if applicable).
Preferred Certifications:
- Certification in FCE testing (Blakenship, Isernhagen, Matheson, etc).
- Certified Ergonomic Specialist.
