*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days or more per week at manager discretion.

This role provides leadership and support to the US Payroll Operations team, comprised of analysts, specialists, and coordinators. The Sr. Manager applies their expert level knowledge to resolve complex issues and assumes accountability for deliverables of the Payroll team. This working-manager role oversees the implementation and operation of Pay & Time practices and continuously evaluates for optimization and efficiency. The position will also manage the functional aspects of Pay & Time systems and solutions in partnership with key stakeholders.

HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCE

This role will allow the opportunity to contribute in these key areas:

  • Leadership: Manage the Payroll team, providing coaching and direction to team members focusing on service delivery, pay and time administration, data analysis and complex issues and escalations.

  • Accountability: Administer end to end payroll processing outcomes, including adherence to auditing and accuracy practices as defined in Sarbanes Oxley controls. Identifies thematic or systemic barriers and issues and collaborates with internal and external partners to implement corrective action

  • Expertise: Audit payroll outcomes to ensure compliance with relevant standards of core payroll areas such as tax, garnishments, wage and hour, leaves, cafeteria plans, etc. Maintain ad- hoc and periodic reporting to monitor accuracy of outcomes and ensures year-end tax statements and notifications are timely and complete

  • Analysis: Monitor, measure, and drive comprehensive operational performance and practice optimization, identifying efficiencies by establishing scorecards, KPIs and other tools to grow and develop strengths and scope

  • Driver: Oversee and direct team participation in system updates and enhancements related to Pay systems, developing standards of practice for consistent and measurable activity, and assesses opportunity for service delivery impacts that could need additional support

  • Grower: Prepare and participate in a robust performance management practice marrying individual growth and business delivery needs, instilling a strong team and service delivery mindset, and modeling the organizational core values and leadership capabilities

  • Engagement: Gather and evaluate inquiry trends, regularly consulting stakeholders on program performance and adoption. Provide recommendations for mitigation and identifying additional metrics relevant to measuring those programs

  • A strong people leader who can lead, motivate, coach and drive a team of individuals at varying levels to success

  • Known for your excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Organized, and able to manage multiple, often complex, tasks at the same time, with an ability to stay focused on key timelines and deliverables

  • Proactive, and someone who consistently anticipates stakeholders needs, is self-motivated, accountable, and goal oriented

YOUHAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree specializing in HR, Business or related field, OR equivalent work experience in human resources/payroll within a business environment

  • 8+ years' experience with large-company (over 5k) payroll; preferably in an HR environment

  • 6+ years' experience managing a payroll team

  • Multistate payroll processing in a large, fast-paced environment. Canada experience desirable

  • Advanced skills with the ADP Workforce Now application

  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams

  • Intermediate experience with Kronos WFC, ADP eTime or other timekeeping applications
