ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear's dynamic global supply chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide. We pride ourselves on being able to get products to market quickly, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswear's supply chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers' ever-changing needs.

The Sr. Global Demand Planner - Footwear will play a key role in long range planning and providing analytical insights for the Sorel Brand. From Product Creation and Go-To-Market processes, through seasonal execution, this role creates and leverages analytics to lead and inform cross-functional decisions related to product assortment strategy, tracking key performance indicators, and inputs into Supply Chain decisions. Additionally, this role will be accountable for driving a consensus Global Demand Plan considering multiple data and cross-functional inputs. Individuals in this role may also expect to participate in continuous improvement activities and/or projects representing the functional team.

*This position is a hybrid work model with 3 days per week onsite requirements in our Portland, OR office.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Partner with Global Finance on the seasonal financial targeting process and collaborate with Global Merchandising to reconcile a global, omni-channel forecast

  • Facilitate and drive analysis for the long-range forecasting process for improved supply chain and manufacturing planning

  • Provide and present analysis related to seasonal performance and planning, product line architecture strategy, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), and assortment optimization

  • Analyze market trends, historical data, and partner with Merchants and Product Teams to influence future line assortments

  • Conduct Operational Reviews with Global Merchandising, Global Finance, Executive Leadership, and cross-functional partners

  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in internal and cross-functional business process and analytics as well as continuous improvement efforts and projects

  • Invest in information systems and processes to support our ongoing demand planning efforts such as Forecast Accuracy, Enterprise Data, and creation of visualization dashboards

  • Experienced at Identifying and solving complex functional and cross-functional problems

  • Highly effective and able to handle multiple competing priorities and prioritize according to business need

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Management, or other applicable discipline is required

  • Typically requires 5-8 years of professional experience in enterprise and/or global planning, forecasting, supply chain, analytics, and/or related fields.

  • Broad understanding of the apparel/footwear industry and the global marketplace

  • Strong forecasting skills, preferably with Blue Yonder and/or other statistical forecasting applications

  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to influence others

  • Critical eye for evaluating data and translating to decision makers through storytelling

  • Strong experience analyzing data through Business Intelligence and visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau experience preferred)

  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint including Intermediate experience using other Microsoft suite applications

Additional Information

  • Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week to complete priority tasks and projects.

  • Attendance at evening/weekend meetings may be required

  • Job scope may include intermittent international travel (up to 20%).
