The Opportunity

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems (IEMS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applicants for a full time, 9-month, tenured associate professor or professor position with an anticipated start date of August 8, 2025. The selected candidate is expected to support IEMS research efforts related but not limited to logistics and supply chain optimization, digital supply networks, sustainability, supply chain digital twins, Ai-driven logistics, industry 4.0, and data-driven decision making.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research record and teaching excellence in topics such as supply chain optimization, logistics systems design, transportation planning, warehouse management, and advanced technologies in logistics (e.g., AI, IoT). The candidate is expected to lead impactful research, secure external funding, and contribute to curriculum development.

We seek individuals with a collaborative approach who can engage with industry partners and enhance the department's interdisciplinary and international initiatives. The ideal candidate will also bring innovative approaches to addressing the challenges of global supply chains, contribute to interdisciplinary research, and mentor young faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students across related programs. IEMSis one of seven departments in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). The department provides outstanding undergraduate education, engages in collaborative and multidisciplinary research, and offers excellent graduate programs that appeal to students of diverse interests and backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management, from an accredited institution.

Appointment at the rank of associate professor requires 5 years of academic experience and strong record of funded research, journal publications, and teaching in supply chain and logistics, commensurate with a tenured associate professor in the department.

Appointment at the rank of full professor requires 10 years of academic experience and outstanding record of funded research, journal publications, and national leadership in supply chain and logistics, commensurate with a tenured professor in the department.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Expertise in areas such as supply chain optimization, digital supply networks, sustainability, supply chain digital twins, AI-driven logistics, Industry 4.0, and data-driven decision-making.
  • A strong track record of innovative research and practical approaches to the challenges of global supply chains.
  • Research and teaching in logistics and supply chain.
