Are you a dynamic sales rep interested in helping local businesses with innovative outdoor advertising campaigns? We need someone who truly appreciates the connection between marketing and sales, someone who genuinely gets excited with each and every sale - big or small. Our Lamar office in Cincinnati, Ohio is now hiring a new Account Executive (salary + commission) to help us bring outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Cincinnati, OH and the surrounding areas.

A Senior Sales Account Executive is to meet and exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory by promoting and selling outdoor advertising to qualified advertisers. This role is expected to use professional sales techniques, build relationships, and develop long term relationships that grow sales for Lamar Advertising

What you can expect from us:



  • A Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm work schedule with a combination of time spent in-office and selling in the field
  • First-year earning potential of $75,000 - $125,000 including commissions, dependent on experience and selling ability

    • A commission-based pay structure with an annual base salary of $30,000 - $32,000

What we are looking for in YOU:



  • Demonstrated proficiency in selling, promoting and influencing with a hyper focus on meeting/exceeding sales quotas
  • Able and willing to become a product expert in outdoor advertising, including comprehensive knowledge of installation and product details
  • Understanding of digital marketing campaigns (such as but not limited to social media, email marketing, PPC, Geofencing SEO, etc.)
  • Solid working knowledge of general sales techniques
  • Results oriented in cold calling and making persuasive oral presentations
  • Superb interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Driven to establish rapport, earn trust and foster cooperative internal and external working relationships
  • Tech savvy with computers, sales software, Microsoft Office Suite on Surface Pros, and quick to learn new technology
  • Effective communication skills, consistently producing grammatically-accurate routine business correspondence
  • Proven adaptability to perform well under fluctuating workloads and competing deadline
  • Intrinsically motivated to succeed, resilient in the face of rejection
  • Capable of working independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction


Education and experience:

Required



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current and Valid Driver's License
  • 10+ years of Sales Experience


Preferred



  • College Degree preferred in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 10+ years Outdoor Advertising Experience
  • CRM experience preferred

A day in the life:



  • Meet and exceed sales targets and monitor personal sales data and reports
  • Target businesses within assigned territory/account list and visit each established Lamar client and our competitors' clients within specified time frame
  • Identify potential growth areas, open new accounts and increase Lamar's market share by selling all products - Posters, Bulletins and Transit (where applicable)
  • Conduct market research to identify new prospects and effectively tailor outreach strategies to meet client needs and increase conversion rates.
  • Become proficient in the use of Lamar computer tools to locate Co-op prospects, follow-up on Hot Leads, prepare proposals, and research
  • Prepare written presentations, reports and proposals
  • Become an active team member of Lamar and the advertising community
  • Develop presentation skills utilizing computer tools and present to clients on a regular basis
  • Maintain accounts receivable
  • Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and cold calling best practices to continuously improve techniques and increase effectiveness.
  • Keep abreast of competition - particularly newspaper, radio, TV, cable, and online advertising
  • Stay well-informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in digital marketing, applying this knowledge to enhance Lamar campaign performance and drive innovation
  • Actively participate in sale meetings, regional meetings, seminars and trade shows


Self-Organization



  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans a month in advance
  • Maintain a professional sales appearance
  • Use sales tools and complete daily planner/sales program after each call and at the end of the day
  • Maintain organized up to date records of clients and sales activity


Time Management



  • Minimize travel time and maximize time in the field with clients
  • Travel overnight when necessary
  • Use the Lamar Sales Support Center and the Multi Market Coordinators to sell multi Lamar markets
  • Cluster accounts to work them geographically and manage your time effectively


Administrative



  • Maintain client profiles and be prepared to submit daily planners/call reports, sales plans, forecasts and expense reports on a timely basis
  • Follow-up on all client production orders and ensure campaigns begin and end as the client requested. If any problems arise, will communicate immediately with the client and manager to find a solution
  • Operate within expense budget


Physical Demands and Work Environment



  • The primary work environment for this position is a combination of an office environment and work in the field making sales calls and servicing existing accounts.
  • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading, color
    distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, talking, turning, and walking.
  • Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10%
