Job Summary

This role is vital in the ZSFG Cardiology Clinical Laboratory, focusing on independently conducting exercise stress tests, stress echocardiograms, and pharmacologic stress tests to support comprehensive cardiovascular diagnostics. Working under medical direction, you will oversee the full testing process-from patient preparation to monitoring and documentation-ensuring accurate and timely results.

As the primary technologist for treadmill stress testing, your responsibilities include preparing patients by reviewing medical histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring they feel informed and comfortable. During the test, you'll monitor heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, and any ischemic or arrhythmic changes, while handling all aspects of the equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy. You'll work closely with attending physicians to coordinate any needed support.

In addition to exercise stress tests, you'll assist in performing stress echocardiograms and pharmacologic stress tests. Occasionally, you may also support ambulatory ECG monitor patch testing and interpretation, working in collaboration with other team members. Beyond patient testing, your role involves assisting in scheduling and patient communication about appointments, communicating with referring providers, maintaining accurate records, preparing detailed reports, and contributing to lab advancements by updating methodologies and creating protocols as needed. This position is ideal for a skilled technologist seeking a high level of responsibility within a collaborative cardiology team.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $47.50 - $59.34 (Hourly Rate).
