Position Summary

We are looking for aClinicianto join our team. This individual will provide individual and group-basedsubstance usedisorder counseling to pregnant and parenting people at the Addiction Resource Center (ARC), which is licensed under MaineHealthMid CoastHospital and managed by MaineHealth Behavioral Health. The role involves working closely with the medical director who manages the psychiatric care and medications forsubstance usedisorders for this population, and providing counseling services in the office and community. A strong desire to work with people and their families working toward or maintaining their recovery is needed. Knowledge ofsubstance usedisorders, family systems, and child protective services is preferred.

The Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for evaluation, assessment, and providing treatment for persons who present withsubstance use-relatedissues, and/or mental health problems. Services can be provided to family members or concerned persons affected by someone's substance misuse. Duties include providing evaluation and treatment recommendations; referring to appropriate services; and providing education and counseling to clients, family members, and affected others. Evaluation and treatment occur within programs of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Department. Group facilitation is an essential part of position responsibilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Addictions Treatment, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

2. License/Certifications: Conditional Licensure in Social Work or Counseling (LMSW-cc, LCPC-cc) required.

3. Experience: One year of previous experience in counseling adolescents and adults dealing with substance use-related and mental health issues required. Two years of prior sobriety if in recovery at time of hire. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of an OPBH Clinician I role.
