SeniorTechnical Specialist for EBNN Research Operations and CMAS Science Support Job ID JR101504 Date posted 01/22/2025 The Environment, Biology, Nuclear Science and Nonproliferation (EBNN) Directorate Research Operations Group is seeking a technician to support daily operations. EBNN Research Operations provides Operational and Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) support for EBNN and work with Brookhaven National Laboratory's Center for Multiscale Applied Sensing (CMAS). CMAS is a multi-disciplinary center that focuses on acquiring, analyzing, and interpreting measurements from networks of sensors in highly heterogeneous areas, including complex urban and coastal locations. The CMAS Team aims to solve modern challenges: 1- environmental justice, 2- national security concerns related to urban atmospheric transport, and 3- renewable energy generation. You will also be assigned to support a diverse variety of tasks undertaken by the Research Operations Group. This exciting opportunity will put you to work with the Work Control Supervisor/Electrical Safety Advisor and the ESH Manager in Research Ops to ensure that operations run safely and smoothly across the four departments it serves as well as the Science Team of the Center for Multiscale Applied Sensing in the Department of Environmental and Climate Sciences towards fulfilling the Center's scientific mission. For CMAS you will be responsible for providing operational support such as repairing equipment, assisting staff, and participating in scheduled field work both onsite and offsite and be expected to act as a Work Control Coordinator and Research Space Manager for EBNN and Field Campaign Coordinator for CMAS. This position has a high level of interaction with an international and multicultural scientific community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
