Palmer, AK (ALALP) - Acetylene production & filling How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Cylinder Maintenance I will be responsible for safely handling and maintenance of high
pressure cylinders according to compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the
standard operating procedures of Airgas. Helper - Load & unload trucks, operate forklift, become familiar
with cylinders by size, label, and color, sorts cylinders by valve type/gas service and size, visually assess
(visual inspection) cylinders, and set up for testing by performing the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective
equipment.
* Performs preventative maintenance on the cylinder stamping and paint systems.
* May provide backup assistance with the production team moving cylinders for staging, loading,
unloading, and painting cylinders.
* Secures all equipment, tools, and supplies at the end of each work day.
* Inspects cylinders, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and
distributor standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as checking for
Visual defects, examining Valves, Safeties, and Caps.
* Sort and organize pallets of hazardous materials on a daily basis.
* Handles high-pressure industrial, medical and specialty gas cylinders. Prepares high pressure
cylinders for testing by other associates at the maintenance plant. Make sure that cylinders are
properly inspected and maintained to applicable standards.
* Assists with the loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets, trucks, and tractor trailers.
Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
* Attends all training including; Safety, DOT, Basic cylinder handling, AGU, and UE.
* Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting
cylinder labels, CGA Valve type, and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labels cylinders.
* Responsible for assisting with the daily quality control of outgoing cylinder inspections.
* Performs daily general housekeeping responsibilities and 6S activities.
